Indigo has worked with Slough Borough Council to provide their on and off street enforcement services for almost three years. At the start of the contract, we showed a flexible and adaptable approach to parking training for this local authority.

With over 30 members of the Borough’s parking staff completing a TUPE transfer from the previous provider, Indigo needed to develop a parking training programme to enable all staff to operate to the requisite standard, without compromising service provision.
During the first two weeks of operation, one of our training managers spent six days at the contract operations base, providing a tailored one-day induction course to small groups of employees.
All TUPE staff attended this condensed course, covering the key elements of Indigo’s compulsory training modules:
- Company Induction
- Working Safely
- Manual Handling
- Fire Safety
- Diversity Awareness
- Conflict Avoidance
- Customer Care
During the following six months, our training manager worked with the contract manager to identify individual staff members who needed additional training. This has been provided either on an ad hoc basis in Slough or through scheduled parking training courses at our purpose-built Training Centre just outside London.
