Indigo, a global leader in parking solutions, recently welcomed the local fire brigade to its Addenbrooke’s multi-storey car park so they could carry out some vital operational training.
NHS Trust staff and visitors watched on as the fire crews rehearsed rescue and firefighting drills within the nine level car park.
Watch Commander Darren Thompson said, “Thank you to Indigo UK for allowing the crews from the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service to have the opportunity to practice new procedures at a suitable location. We are very grateful; this site provides crews valuable experience to improve our operational response and the ultimate safety of our staff. We look forward to working with you again in the future.”
Andy Marr, Regional Commercial Manager, Indigo, said “We work closely with the emergency services and we are proud to have had the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service use our facilities to train their firefighters.”
Indigo, which works with 16 major hospital Trusts across the UK, will be showcasing its work with Addenbrooke’s in a video shown at this year’s IHEEM Healthcare Estates exhibition (Stand D23) 2016. The 30 year partnership between Indigo and Addenbrooke’s involves an agreement and an investment of over £14 million. The investment and partnership has created a state of the art 1,228 space, nine level multi-storey car park, equipped with the latest design and technology features, aimed at improving customer experience.
